Update Feb 2010: CONSTRUCTION OF HERITAGE 5TH FLOOR

The construction of the 5th floor roof slab was completed in the evening of Feb. 22. A total of 140 cubic meters of concrete was poured continuously from 10AM to 8PM. The concrete was pumped-up 7 levels from the street using a boom of 30 meters high to deposit the concrete to its location.

After 14 days the forms of the slab will be gradually taken out to start the interior partitions of the 5th floor. There will be 12 classrooms with capacities ranging from 30-50 persons and one big room that can accommodate 90 people. Aside from these there is a big lobby that can hold 200 people.

Some refinements in the plan were introduce such as: changing the windows to big sliding glass panel to maximize natural ventilation, the lighting will be LED which will all be solar powered. The corridor partition will also have big glass panel for monitoring of classes. The two meter easement in both sides of the building will become a garden ledge. The roof deck will be prepared for especial functions of the community.

The construction is being pushed for the scheduled of inauguration and ribbon cutting by our Elder on Apr. 11, 2010.
